I got a D Kurd 12 from Chirp Handpans recently, and honestly I didn’t expect to like it this much. The sound is just beautiful. Every note feels clean and full, and it’s really easy to get lost playing it for long stretches.

What stood out to me is how balanced everything feels. The sustain, the tuning, even the way it responds to touch all feel right. You don’t have to fight the instrument, it just flows with you.

The whole experience with Chirp was smooth too. They were responsive, clear, and easy to deal with.

Overall, it feels less like I bought an instrument and more like I picked up something I’ll keep coming back to for years. Definitely worth it.

I’m completely new to this instrument, so I didn’t want to overthink it but first impressions… it looks beautiful. The finish, the detailing, everything feels really well crafted.

Still figuring out the sound and how to play it properly, but even with my basic attempts, the tone feels soothing and clean. Therz something very calming about it.

He gave me excellent advice via WhatsApp, answered all my questions, gave me plenty of time, and helped me make my decision. A very pleasant experience. The handpan was then shipped well-packaged—everything went perfectly.

Ich habe meine Handpan nun bereits seit etwas mehr als einem Jahr und ich bin nach wie vor absoult glücklich und zufrieden. Der Klang ist einfach so schön. Selbst ich, als Anfängerin, kann andere Menschen damit verzaubern. Zudem ist die Handpan handgefertigt und mit individuellen Gravuren versehen. Dadurch erhält sie einen ganz besonderen Charme. Chirag ist unglaublich geduldig und so kompetent. Er hat mich via WA super gut beraten, all meine Fragen beantwortet, mir Zeit gelassen und bei der Entscheidung geholfen. Ein sehr angenehmer Kontakt. Die Handpan wurde dann gut verpackt verschifft- es lief alles einwandfrei.

When I first visited Chirag’s store with a friend, I was not planning to buy any handpan as I have one already, but fell in love with 21-note one and was obsessed for more than a week. Bought my first handpan recently and am very happy with its craft quality. Chirag took time to explain everything I needed to know about the craft and the instrument (as a beginner).

My experience was really good. Chirag was always very responsive, before (when I was trying to choose which scale to choose) during the handcrafting (sending me pictures and updates) and after the delivery (answering questions regarding the care for the instrument).

I particularly enjoyed the simulator on the website which helped me hear the individual notes and choose the scale.

The delivery time for me was longer than expected, probably due to issues related to the pandemic restrictions, it took about five months. I believe that in “normal” conditions it would be faster.

The moment I touched my handpan I fell in love with it, and I enjoy playing it more and more every day. It is a truly special and unique instrument!

To be fair, I would also mention that the finishing is not perfect. The color does not look completely uniform (especially at the bottom) and the glue holding the top and bottom part together is somehow visible being white on black. These are just minor details and show that this is a handmade instrument, a rarity nowadays, which ultimately makes it a plus.

Finally, the costs are reasonable in comparison to those “perfect looking” instruments crafted by larger makers. For a beginner like me, Chirag’s handpan is absolutely perfect.

I am already thinking about getting a second one with more notes and a different scale, and I will most likely get it again from Chirag.
