For every extra note, our price is 11000 INR additional, and for imported material (such as ember steel or ayasa shells, the added cost is that of the shells, import duty and shipping). Here at Chirp Handpans, we carefully select each batch of steel ourselves from top steel manufacturers. Hence we are able to meet our tight tolerances and specifications. Subsequently, we hydroform the sheets into shells at our own facility. After that, the shells are Liquid nitrided using our perfected proprietary formula. Thereby, each shell is the perfect canvas for builiding a stable, reactive and warm instrument. Being 100% made in India helps us keep the costs low. Built to last
Each Chirp Handpan takes over tens of thousands of skilled hammer strokes (over 72 hours of hammering) to craft. To create a low-cost handpan, some makers in Asian countries tune the instrument in only one round of tuning. The resultant instrument lacks stability of tuning and can de-tune easily. Our handpans on the other hand, undergo over 3 rounds of heat-stabilization and tuning. Hence for the price you pay for your handpan, you get a robust instrument in India

Every Chirp Handpans comes with 2 years of free service and a lifetime of support. For foreign handpans, you’d have to pay international shipping to get your instrument serviced from the maker. Since we’re based in India, you get lifetime support for your handpan!
